A Small Team with a Significant Responsibility

Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District has served this community since 1949. We may not be the largest department on the coast, but the responsibility placed in us is no smaller. When someone calls 911 within our district, they are calling on us. That trust defines who we are.

We are a combination department made up of career personnel and dedicated volunteers working side by side. Our volunteers are not supplemental; they are foundational to our success. They commit their time, energy, and discipline to meet the same standards expected of any professional responder. They do it because this is their community.

We operate in a dynamic environment that includes coastal neighborhoods, rural communities, agricultural lands, wildland interface, and a high-traffic tourism corridor. We cover 125 square miles between Tillamook and Lincoln City. That means varied terrain, seasonal population shifts, and a wide range of emergency demands. It also means preparation matters.

We train continuously. We evolve with changes in fire behavior, medical science, and community risk. We build partnerships with neighboring agencies. We focus on reliability, accountability, and readiness.

Public service is not a slogan here. It is a responsibility.

Our Mission

Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is dedicated to minimizing the impact of emergencies on life, property, and the environment. We accomplish this through prevention, education, professional training, coordinated teamwork, and dependable response.

·      We prepare before emergencies occur.

·      We respond when they do.

·      We continually improve because our community deserves a district that adapts to and grows with it.

The Area We Serve

Our district is located along the Oregon Coast, serving approximately 125 square miles between Tillamook and Lincoln City. This includes permanent residents, seasonal visitors, businesses, schools, agricultural operations, and critical infrastructure. It is a geographically diverse and operationally demanding service area, and we take pride in meeting that challenge.

Serving this region is more than coverage on a map. It is a commitment to the people who live here, work here, and visit here, to ensure that when help is needed, we are ready.
